Introduction

Officially formed on August 15, 2007, the Infocom Federation Brunei (IFB) is a non-profit national body dedicated to growing and nurturing the Information Technology and Communications (Infocom) Industry in Negara Brunei Darussalam. Our Society is non-sectarian, non-communal and non-political.

Establishment of the Federation

Answering the call of His Majesty's Titah, IFB was born out of a gathering of stakeholders on May 30, 2007. Organised by BAG Networks Sdn Bhd, this forum developed into the seed which would eventually encompass a broad group of stakeholders including (in Alphabetical order): Alif Technologies, BAG Networks, DST Group, E-Prime Networks, ITIS Wescot, Komputer Wisman, KPF Comserve, Syabas Technologies, Technonet, and TelBru.

At a second informal discussion chaired by Dato Paduka Ali Apong (Permanent Secretary of MoF and Chairman of BAG Networks), these 10 companies would then form the initial Pro-Tem committee. Their initial goal was to register the organisation and establish the initial Executive Committee.

 Flagship Event

In conjunction with its one year anniversary, in May 2008 the IFB organised an ICT Careers day with the support of the Prime Minister's Office.
